No, we sold up, packed up, and made tracks for a new life in Switzerland. This was 2004. My husband, Dan, had just finished his MSc, and we were ready for a change, brimming with ambition and ideas. It wasn't an easy decision to make, especially with three children to consider. But it had to be done.

Dan had applied for new jobs, both of us trying to balance, adapt and embrace our new environment. But the nonchalant neutrality of Switzerland just wasn't for us.
Not letting the experience dishearten us, we decided to try elsewhere. Somewhere that could accommodate and nurture our life plans and goals. And as arbitrary as throwing a dart at a map, we embarked on France. Annecy, to be precise. Now, this was more like it; we fell in love with the place. It was the perfect city to lay down our familial and entrepreneurial intentions, and the dream was suddenly becoming ever more tangible, but... we couldn't afford a house there.
Adamant not to let the sun set on our adventure, there was finally some good news on the horizon: Dan applied for a job he had seen with Airbus in Toulouse. So, we drove down there to explore the opportunity. While there, Dan began working on a great idea for an online business. A new service for an untapped market: an affordable, multilingual website creation service, the first of its kind.
We travelled back to England for Dan's graduation, and, upon returning to France, decided our heart was still in Annecy. So with the new business plan under our entrepreneurial belt, we followed it. After many miles, setbacks and obstacles, we had done it. After many applications and preliminaries, development on Web247.net started in 2007, with both Dan and I at the helm. We're now trading in two languages, four currencies, and are about to sell our first shares. The business has marketing centres in the UK and France, with Spain and New Zealand following shortly.
It was journey arduous, almost unforgiving - made all the more so with three children to look after - but we got there. We reached the end of the rainbow, developing a global business that is fast becoming most recognised website-creation service in the world.
