Our client, one of the well known and largest catalog companies in USA, who were already sourcing from India, were looking for something unique in the field of traditional Indian handicrafts.

Transaction Overview:

After having an initial meeting with the client and assessing the clients need, TMG made anelaborative product search criteria. What followed was almost 3 months of visiting differentparts of India looking for exclusive products that had their origins in certain specific regionsof India. TMG team finally zeroed in on a tribal area on the border of 2 central Indian states.The product - carved wooden handicrafts, carving done by the real tribal people of Indiawhich included wall panels, doors, big & small figures etc. with intricate design patternswere found to be extremely unique and not commercialized at all in the export market

Key Deliverables:

The client was shown the pictures and a few samples of the products which greatlyimpressed the entire sourcing team of the client. The products were immediately chosen tobe added into the catalog. Since the product was from a tribal area, the TMG team set up aproper supply chain for the client. Local people were employed, jobs distributed andexplained, Manufacturing as per client quality standards were explained and implemented.Once the entire process was in place, the first orders were passed and the catalog companyhas now placed running orders for the next 4 years for those items.
