Getting to Belgium

Flights to Belgium (flying to Brussels from Heathrow) are very affordable starting at £59 and take approximately 50 minutes.

Domestic animals (dogs, cats and ferrets) may travel freely across Europe provided that they have an EU Pet Passport and are exempt from quarantine under the PETS scheme. All animals must be microchipped. Emigrates may bring up to five pets into Belgium. Rabbits and rodents may travel to Belgium without vaccination or quarantine. Consult the carriers for their conditions and costs.

The EU Pet Passport contains information about the pet such as its owner, identification number and proof of vaccination against rabies. It is issued by the vet and valid for the life of the pet.

What is the PETS scheme?

The PETS scheme (Pet Travel Scheme) is an agreement which was made by several EU countries to allow the movement of pets between these countries free of quarantine regulations. Since its introduction, other non-EU countries which are free from the rabies virus have subscribed to the PETS scheme
